Dairy Free and Vegan Caramel Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 cup coconut sugar
- 1 cup coconut cream
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Combine coconut sugar, coconut cream and sea salt in a small saucepan. Heat slowly while stirring to dissolve the coconut sugar.
- Once mixture is boiling, reduce to a simmer. Simmer for 10-15 minutes. The sauce will thicken further as it cools.
- Stir vanilla extract into finished caramel sauce. The caramel sauce will harden as it cools.
- Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 7 days.
