Peaches are very abundant this time of year! You can find them at almost every farmers market, grocery store or depending where you live, maybe even on the side of the road!
My dad had purchased not one BUT two deliveries of fresh, hand picked peaches this summer from https://thepeachtruck.com and oh my goodness were they delicious! I had peaches galore and wanted to make all the peach recipes I could. Now I could’ve just peeled them all and froze them…but that’s boring! So the first recipe I made was this peach purée. I love using purées to top my morning chia seed pudding, yogurt bowls or even dairy free ice cream!
This recipe is super simple to make too! The most difficult part is peeling the peaches but isn’t that what the kids are for? (Actually, I did con my son into peeling them for me, although he only lasted about 10 minutes, lol)!
There is something I love about the smell of warm fruit cooking on the stove. Reminds me of pies, which I don’t make too often. It makes the entire house smell so enticing! It lingers for hours, even after the mess is all cleaned up. Mmmmm, puts a smile on my face just thinking about it but I digress!
Anyway, half this recipe finds a spot in the fridge to use throughout the week. While the other half of the recipe gets frozen for a later date. Like the middle of winter, when we’re dreaming of those summer days of sun again!
You can leave out the honey, pure vanilla extract and sea salt if you like. The peaches alone make a great recipe for homemade baby food. Or maybe you want the purest of purées. Either way works!
Let me know how you decide to make yours and what you use it for. I love hearing your comments or better yet, tag me on Instagram if you make any of my recipes!
