Smoothies are a consistent part of my daily routine! Most mornings it’s my go to breakfast. But if not in the morning, then it’s definitely lunch.
Why? Well, smoothies are a great way to pack a lot of dense nutrition into one meal. I mean, a lot of us aren’t going to walk around munching on a handful of spinach…but add that handful of spinach to a blender and you won’t even notice it! Same goes for frozen veggies. I often toss in a serving of frozen riced cauliflower, frozen zucchini or frozen butternut squash into a smoothie. It’s another veggie down for the day but again, you don’t taste it! The three I just mentioned, they actually add fiber and are tasteless. WIN WIN!
Avocado? Well, not only is it an excellent healthy fat that helps us stay full longer but it adds a nice creamy consistency.
Frozen fruit is what keeps smoothies fun! You can change them up depending on the mood you're in. Plus fruit is “nature's candy”! No processed sugar needed.
Now let’s talk about supplements. I’m a big proponent of them! They fill the nutritional gaps we all are missing. It just isn’t possible to chew all the nutrients we need on a daily basis. So by supplementing them is how we ensure our bodies are getting what they need!
These are the Superfoods I’ve been using for over 7 years now. Shakeology is the best in my opinion, so I add a scoop to my smoothie everyday!
Chocolate vegan is always in rotation and the link above is how you can snag some for yourself.
Powdered greens is an addition I have on hand, as well. All brands are a little different but you can bet they have more than just spinach in them. Again, ensuring that your body is getting a variety of antioxidants! I will go back and forth between fresh greens and the powdered kind.
This last one might be new to you…It’s called NeoCell Hyaluronic Acid. If you were following the “Hailey Bieber Smoothie” trend, that’s how it gained its popularity. But I never start taking something just because it’s popular! I do my research and become my own advocate (that’s my advice to you as well.)
So when I heard that hyaluronic acid was something that could be taken internally, I was intrigued!
According to thedifferencebetween.net hyaluronic acid is responsible for the smoothness of the skin and is associated with skin repair. It is the main building block of the vitreous of the human eye, an important structural component of articular cartilage, and a major part of the synovial fluid.
Upon doing more research, I learned hyaluronic acid is different from collagen. It’s safe to take everyday. You can use a serum for your face but it also benefits us internally as well.
Smoothies and juices are good for us for so many reasons. Make sure to check out some of my other recipes to get some new ideas!
